W sercu Gór Świętokrzyskich/ In the heart of the Holy Cross Mountains
Our international students, participants in the Erasmus+ Programme exchange, had the opportunity to experience an unforgettable trip to the heart of the Holy Cross Mountains. They were guided around the monastery on Holy Cross by Father Stanisław Jankowicz, OMI—a Polish missionary who worked in Cameroon for 37 years. His stories gave the place a completely new dimension and allowed the group to view its history from a unique perspective. The walk across the scree slopes on Łysa Góra made an equally strong impression on the participants.
The next point on the itinerary was a visit to the Park of Legends, where students could immerse themselves in the magical world of Holy Cross tales and stories.
At the end of the day, everyone gathered at Chata Kaka in Kakonin, where they were welcomed with genuine Polish hospitality. The afternoon was enriched by a performance from the “Śwarne Kakonianki” Rural Housewives’ Association ensemble, which brought a joyful folk atmosphere to the gathering.
It was a day full of experiences, integration, and discovering Polish culture.
